Fenella Fielding Foundation

Fenella Fielding Foundation Ltd established 2020

In 2020, Simon McKay, Fenella's close friend and collaborator, established the Fenella Fielding Foundation Ltd as a way to continue the projects they had intended to do in her lifetime. It is a not-for-profit company, meaning any profits will be donated to an existing charity such as RADA Scholarship Fund. (In keeping with the RADA scholarship Fenella benefitted from when she was starting out.)

The main objectives of the Foundation are:
⦁    to celebrate the life and career of Fenella Fielding OBE;
⦁    to catalogue, preserve and make accessible the Fenella Fielding Archive;
⦁    to raise money for charitable or other noteworthy causes using the Fenella Fielding Archive as source material to produce CDs, DVDs, books and exhibitions.

The first project, in 2022, was an exhibition of new Fenella portraits. Artist Fionn Wilson (who previously curated an exhibition about Christine Keeler) oversaw the creation of 15 new portraits by 5 artists. The artists did not get to meet Fenella, but visited her home shortly after her death while it was still unchanged and had access to many unseen images of the great lady. The portrait exhibition ran from 9th November to 18 Decembe3r 2022 at Gallery286 (Earls Court) more details

In 2023, the Foundation in association with QMUL screened Carry On Screaming on Halloween and showed more exhibits from the Fenella archive.

In 2025, there will be an exhibition about Fenella's life portraying both the onstage image and fascinating glimpses of her behind the scenes.

Additionally, work to catalogue the Fenella Archive and initiate other projects continues.
